SOUND

Did you know the human body is made up of over 60–70% water?

Water is highly receptive to vibration, which means that sound doesn’t just stay in the ears — it travels through the entire body.

During a sound bath, instruments such as crystal singing bowls and gongs create sustained frequencies that move through the body’s internal environment. Because of our water content, these vibrations are conducted efficiently, allowing sound to be felt on a cellular and somatic level.

These vibrations also interact with the body’s fascial system — a continuous web of connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles, organs, and structures. Fascia is highly sensitive and responsive, meaning sound can influence areas of tension, restriction, and holding patterns throughout the body.

As the nervous system begins to respond to these frequencies, the body naturally shifts out of a stress response and into a more regulated, parasympathetic state. This is where deeper rest, release, and restoration can occur.

Rather than doing or achieving anything, a sound bath is an opportunity to lie down, soften, and allow the body to receive — creating space for subtle yet powerful shifts to take place.

What's Next?

Sound at Shii Studios extends beyond the in-person experience.

This work continues to evolve into more accessible and educational formats, offering a deeper understanding of how sound interacts with the body, the nervous system, and our internal environment.

Upcoming offerings will include sound-based workshops and certification trainings (both in-person and online), streaming music, meditation videos for relaxation and stress relief, and a range of educational resources designed for those curious about the science, structure, and application of sound in both personal and professional settings.

There will also be a growing library of recorded sound journeys and sessions, allowing this work to be experienced beyond the in-person space, supporting rest, integration, and ongoing nervous system regulation.

Over time, this page will continue to expand, bridging the gap between felt experience and deeper understanding through both experiential and educational content.
